Guide to Distance Learning

Posted on Aug. 3, 2020 | Last Updated on Aug. 6, 2020, 8:55 a.m.

As we approach the start of the 2020 - 2021 school year we have created this page as a resource for families to aid with Distance Learning.

Here are some helpful tips:

  • Establish routines and expecations: Establishing a regular routine such as waking up at a certain time, getting dressed or eating a meal in the morning can give you energy and will make your day seem easier when split up into segments. Remembering to take breaks in between will reduce eye strain and fatigue and get kids ready to learn!
  • Choose a good place to learn: Setting up a physical location thats dedicated for school work will keep you distraction free and focused on the task at hand! Make sure it is quiet, free from distractions and has great internet coverage to ensure effortless learning.
  • Check in throughout the day: Commonly check in with your child during the day! Ask questions like:
    • What classes do you have today?
    • Do you have any assignments?
    • What can I do to help?

Following these tips can help you make the best of this new and unfamilar remote learning environment. It can also give your child a better shot at success!
