Response to COVID-19

As a preventive measure and based on the guidance of the Los Angeles Unified School District they have provided us with instructions on preparing ourselves. Some tips on staying healthy includes avoiding close contact, staying home when sick, covering your Mouth and Nose, washing your hands frequently, avoiding the touching of our eyes, mouth and nose, including practicing other good health habits such as getting plenty of sleep or drinking plenty of fluids.

LA Unified is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of students and staff and providing a safe, secure learning environment for all. In the event of a school closure, please refer to the following resources to help your student continue their learning while at home. 


UPDATE: LAUSD announces that effective Monday, March 16, they will close all Los Angeles Unified public schools for two weeks while they evaluate the appropriate path forward.

UPDATE 2 (March 16, 2020): Los Angeles Unified Opens 60 Grab & Go Food Centers. Due to recent developments in the global coronavirus pandemic, Los Angeles Unified is opening Grab & Go Food Centers, giving families 60 sites where they can pick up food for their children.

Sites that are closest to Hillcrest are: Dorsey HS, Audubon MS, and Cochran MS.  They will be open from 7-10 AM so that students can pick up meals.

UPDATE 3 (March 23, 2020): As of this morning the Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District has notifed schools that they will remain closed until May 1st, 2020. As this situation is ever changing it is recommended that you visit the LAUSD homepage for more information.
